The women’s basketball team becomes Sooner Athletic Conference champions by winning against Oklahoma Baptist,76-70, March 7 at Abe Lemons Arena in Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center.
The team worked hard for the championship win, sophomore Guard Albany Anderson said.
“We had a game plan and we executed,” Anderson said. “I feel on top of the world. Being undefeated at home feels amazing.”
The win was a team effort, Anderson said.
After claiming OCU’s sixth consecutive SAC regular-season title, the woman remained successful throughout the tournament. Click here to read more about the team’s regular season.
The tournament began March 4 at Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center. The women won against John Brown, 72-59, in the quarterfinals, then against Southwestern Christian, 82-63, in the semifinals.
