The men’s baseball team fell to Mount Mercy (Iowa) 3-1 and controlled MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) 6-1 Feb. 20 at Jim Wade Stadium.
The Stars, ranked 16th in the NAIA, improved to 7-3 in the season and created a combined 10 hits for- the day.
Mount Mercy scored all of their runs in the third inning. OCU scored their loan run when freshmen Joe Lytle grounded to the second baseman which allowed Adonis Askew to score.
Junior Skylar Janisse allowed three runs on one hit and struck out six in the loss.
Oklahoma City scored three runs in the third inning against MidAmerica Nazarene. Junior Reggie Wilson tripled to right center scoring Hunter Marcum. Later junior Dylan Delso doubled off the left field fence to score Wilson and Joe Haddox.
Junior Dustin Cook went the distance giving up seven hits and striking out nine. Cook has pitched two complete games, 20 innings, struck out 25 with a 0.45 earned run average in three games.
OCU hosts Mount Mercy at 10 a.m. and Tabor (Kan.) at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at Jim Wade Stadium.
