The men’s wrestling team beat Lindenwood University-Belleville 49-3 Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena.
Senior Aaron LaFarge and sophomores Adrian Gaines and Derek Sivertsen stuck falls for the Stars. The Stars, ranked 12th in NAIA wrestling, moved to 4-2 in duals.
The Stars remain unbeaten against NAIA competitors this season.
“We’re 4-0 against NAIA teams,” Coach Archie Randall said. “I think we’ll do really well against the rest of the NAIA teams.”
LaFarge had a fall in 1:30 at 125 pounds. LaFarge is ranked third among the NAIA at his weight.
Gaines pinned Wardell Morgan in 5:27 in the 133-pound match. Sivertsen added a fall in 3:58 over Zach Hausman. Sivertsen holds the No. 9 spot in the NAIA’s 184-pound ratings.
Junior Zach Skates routed Ty Etheridge in an 18-3 technical fall. Skates is ranked fourth at 157 pounds in the NAIA.
Sophomore Miguel Tovar overwhelmed Noah Lennox with eight touchdowns and two near falls at 197. Tovar finished off his match in a 23-8 technical fall with a third-period takedown.
The men compete in the Fort Hays State-Bob Smith Open at 9 a.m. Sunday in Hays,Kan.
