The OCU Study Abroad department will celebrate International Education Week with a variety of events and presentations.
International Education Week begins on Monday, Nov. 16, and is dedicated to helping students fulfill their dreams of studying abroad by providing them with information. Both faculty and students who have previously studied abroad will be on hand to answer questions.
On Monday, international cuisine will be served in the Caf all day to promote the week’s events.
Multiple study abroad info sessions will take place on Tuesday, beginning at 12:30 p.m. in suite 430 of the Clara E. Jones Administration Building.
Wednesday at the Westley will feature Middle Eastern cuisine from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Watson Lounge of the Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel.
Also on Wednesday, there will be a screening of the film Still Life at 8:30 p.m. in the Methodist Hall Theater. The film features portraits of life abroad.
Thursday will feature Diwali Night from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Great Hall, where students can participate in traditional Indian celebrations, featuring traditional Diwali food.
On Friday, OCU Study Abroad will host an International Conversations table in the Caf during lunch, where students can come together and discuss studying abroad.
There will be a Study Abroad Photo Contest held throughout the week, where students who have studied abroad can submit their favorite photos to be judged in the competition. Winners will be announced Friday.
Wednesday has been designated a day of giving, where students can encourage others to donate to the OCU Study Abroad program. The campaign is titled “Send Stars Abroad,” and will help fund scholarships for OCU students. Donations can be made at the website.
