- Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to Will Eubank and Philip Gawthorne’s script World Breaker. The plot follows a Scottish warlord and his sons who must protect their castle from an invading army. Eubank recently directed and co-wrote sci-fi flick The Signal, which premiered at Sundance, and Gawthorne is a frequent writer for BBC series. To read more on World Breaker, click here.
- Banshee Chapter has become the first full-length feature film to be released on Oculus Rift. It is available for free download through Jamwix.com. The Oculus Rift has been used for promotional content for other films, such as Interstellar and X-Men: Days of Future Past, but this is the first movie that is available in its entirety on the platform. “This is an incredibly exciting moment for technology and entertainment,” said director and Jamwix co-founder Blair Erickson. “We were thrilled to begin unlocking the potential of the next generation storytelling experiences in virtual reality.” For more on the project, click here.
- ABC, in partnership with Warren Lieberstein and producers Eric Tannanbaum and Kim Tannenbaum, is developing an autobiographical account of NBA player Chris Paul’s childhood. Paul will executive produce the project. He joins LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Baron Davis on the list of basketballers with TV shows based on their lives. To read more about the series, click here.
