OCU Men’s Soccer won against St. Gregory’s University, in Shawnee, on Tuesday at Fr. Victor Roberts Field.
The Stars scored a 4-1 win on the fellow Oklahoman team.
Ruy Vaz, senior forward, produced his first hat trick, which is where a player scores three goals in one game.
OCU improved 4-3-2, 3-0-1 in Sooner Athletic men’s soccer.
OCU took the lead in the 11th minute when senior defender, Danny Frid, beat the goalkeeper. Kieran McLachlan, senior midfielder, provided the assit. Frid scored his second goal of the season.
Vaz scored soon after, increasing OCU’s lead. Senior midfielder, Ethan Berney provided the assist.
SGU freshman midfielder, Greg Gibson, scored in the 26th minute, but OCU led 2-1 into half time.
Eight minutes into second half, Vaz scored his fourth goal of the season. Logan Stewart, freshman forward, provided the assist.
Vaz completed his hat trick in the 63rd minute making OCU lead 4-1 with McLachlan as the assist.
Vladimir Kalajdzic, freshman goalkeeper, collected five saves.
OCU returns home Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. against Southwestern Christian University.
