OneHealthyBod is working with OCU’s Spirit Squads to help them improve for nationals.
Steve Clausen from OneHealthyBod in Oklahoma City works with pom and cheer members and the mascots at 5 a.m. Tuesdays.
OneHealthyBod is the official trainer for the Oklahoma City Thunder girls and also works with the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, the University of Oklahoma in Norman, and the University of Tulsa.
Coaches Tasha Hinex and Matt Ramirez are happy OCU was added to the list of universities OneHealthyBod trains. The squads were hesitant about OneHealthyBod coming in, but now they’re excited to work with Clausen and agree that these workouts are the best thing for the program, Hinex said.
“It’s a great opportunity for our team and I think it will be very beneficial in the long run and for nationals,” said Meredith St. George, nursing senior and pom squad member.
Clausen began working with the Spirit Squads in September and will continue doing so for at least the remainder of the year.
“I had the opportunity to start working with them this summer, and the results I saw in such a short amount of time were amazing,” said Kailen Leonard, nursing senior and cheerleader. “I can’t wait to see where this will take us as a program.”
