The Hispanic Student Association is hosting their Hispanic Day in the Cafeteria on Sept. 25.
Hispanic Day is an event hosted by the Hispanic Student Association where Mexican food is served in the caf to raise cultural awareness at OCU.
The event was on the campus calendar for Sept. 19, but was postponed due to the caf’s request.
There is not a full menu yet, but students can expect to see traditional Mexican dishes. There will also be traditional Hispanic music playing.
“It’s just a fun event,” said Liz Ramirez, President of the Hispanic Student Association. “But it is also a little bit of cultural awareness here on campus.”
The Hispanic Student Association hosts Hispanic Day every year in September for Spanish awareness month.
According to Ramirez, it’s the association’s favorite event that they do and people usually love it.
“The food was good last year, plus I’m always up for something different in the caf,” said Ali Bradley, acting sophomore.
The Hispanic Student Association is looking for more members to join. If any students are interested in joining, they can contact Ramirez at eramirez@my.okcu.edu.
