- Sources say that 12 Years a Slave star Chiwitel Ejiofor is MGM and Sony’s top choice to play the villain in the next James Bond film. The studios had no comment. Daniel Craig is set to return as Bond with Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomie Harris slated to return as well. Skyfall helmer Sam Mendes will again direct. - The new North American tour of Jesus Christ Superstar will be an arena rock spectacular. Incubus lead singer Brandon Boyd will play Judas Iscariot, with *NSYNC’s JC Chasez playing Pontius Pilate and Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams portraying Mary Magdalene. Former Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten will play King Herod, and British actor Ben Forster, of the show’s Australian and UK arena tours, will reprise his role as Jesus. - Benicio Del Toro is in final talks to co-star with Emily Blunt in Denis Villeneuve’s thriller Sicario. The story follows an officer from Arizona who travels to Mexico with two mercenaries in search of a drug lord. For more information on the movie and on Del Toro’s other projects, click here.
- Tom Hardy will team up with Ridley Scott for Taboo, an eight-part miniseries created by Stephen Knight (of Eastern Promises fame). Set in 1813, the series will follow Hardy’s character James Keziah Delaney, a rogue adventurer who returns from Africa with diamonds of questionable origin to seek vengeance for his father’s death.
