- The Hunger Games producer Nina Jacobson is on board for an adaptation of Donna Tartt’s novel The Goldfinch, which was published last fall and still ranks second on the New York Times bestseller list. The story follows a boy who loses his mother in a bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and absconds with Fabritius’ painting “The Goldfinch.” To read more on the project, click here.
- HBO has made a 2-year overall deal with Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld veteran Alec Berg. The writer/director will develop new projects for the channel and supervise other prospects. - Musician, songwriter, and producer Ray Parker Jr. has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In addition to his work as a solo artist and a member of Raydio, he is best known for writing the theme song to Ivan Reitman’s 1984 film Ghostbusters. - Tribeca Digital Studios and Dick’s Sporting Goods have partnered on We Could Be King, a documentary about underfunded youth sports. Directed by Judd Ehrlich, the film depicts two rival Philadelphia high schools that were forced to move as a result of budget cuts. It will premiere in April at the Tribeca Film Festival and will then air on ESPN2 on Saturday, April 26, at 8 p.m. ET. For more on the documentary, click here.
