An unusual smell filled the Halls of Walker Center of Arts and Sciences Thursday morning.
Pam Bobier, administrative assistant, sent out an email to the faculty of Petree School of Arts and Sciences warning of the smell, and giving the option to cancel morning classes in Walker Center.
Facilites was called to fix the problem. According to Debra Smith, assistant director of facilities, workers discovered a dried up floor drain was causing the stink.
Bobier said she was amazing at how fast the problem was fixed.
“All they had to do was pour some stuff down the drain,” Bobier said.
Amy Cataldi, associate dean of Petree School of Arts and Sciences, said the stink was worse in the morning.
“Honestly, it was terribly smelly,” Cataldi said. ” It just smelled like sewage.”
According to facilities, the problem has been remedied.
“We got workers over there to fix it this morning,” Smith said. “It should be fine now.”
Doors have been propped open in several locations to help air out the smell.
