The Campus newspaper and its web partner, MediaOCU.com, were recently honored in the national Best of Collegiate Design contest.
College Media Association hosts the national competition, which is in its 21st year. This year’s Best of Collegiate Design received more than 1,000 entries from 128 colleges and universities. Twenty media professionals judged the entries.
MediaOCU won first place for main page presentation. Judges praised the website’s clean design and simple, clear navigation. The student media website’s design was updated in Fall 2013 under the direction of current Editor-in-Chief Amy Fuhrman.
The Campus newspaper received second place in feature page design for the page Six Degrees of President Robert Henry. Mass Communications Alum Nathan Hatcher designed the page. The page’s editorial concept was created and executed by Alumna Emma Velez. To view the page, click here.
Oklahoma City University’s Student Publications staff works to inform, entertain and serve the OCU community while providing students with realistic, hands-on journalistic training. The staff is responsible for the publication of The Campus newspaper, MediaOCU and The Constellation yearbook.
