Kyle Steele has been named the new volleyball coach for OCU.
Steele has successful experience both as a college assistant coach and student athlete. He specializes in teaching passing and defensive ball control, as well as conditioning hitters.
Steele played libero-outside hitter for California Baptist’s men’s team, before playing in the USA Open for indoor volleyball.
He began his coaching career at Redlands Community College.
Steele comes to OCU after assistant coaching for Southern Nazarene, where he served as an volunteer assistant in the past.
Steele uses his step-by-step coaching process to help players get through the game, not to just play it.
“I’m glad to be a star,” Steele said in a university press release. “I’m really thankful for this opportunity Jim [Abbot] and President Henry have given me to direct this program where it needs to go.”
