· Jehane Noujaim’s The Square has won the best feature award from the Inernational Documentary Association. · Lee Su-jin’s Han Gong-ju has won the Golden Star award at the International Film Festival of Marrakech, presided over by jury president Martin Scorcese. Other jury members include Nicolas Winding Refn, Terry Gilliam, Sharon Stone, Marion Cotillard, and Juliette Binoche. The festival has become a valuable promotional springboard in the film community. · Paolo Sorrentino’s The Great Beauty took home prizes for best film, director, actor, and editor at the European Film Awards. Other awards given include the European Film Academy Lifetime achievement award, given to Catherine Deneuve, and the European Achievement in World Cinema honor, bestowed upon Pedro Almodovar. · Veteran producer Michael De Luca has been named as the new president of production at Columbia Pictures. De Luca will move into the position in February, after completing his producing work on Fifty Shades of Grey and Dracula Untold. His previous work includes The Social Network and Moneyball.
