An alumna and former university employee charged with stealing more than $104,000 from the university pleaded guilty this week to the charge.
Lisa Riggs was charged Sept. 18 in the western district of Oklahoma with wire fraud.
Riggs agreed this week to repay OCU more than $104,000, according to a story released Oct. 31 by The Associated Press.
Riggs, who was the executive assistant to former OCU President Tom McDaniel, used a university credit to pay for personal expenses, including gas, groceries, wireless phone services, and an Oklahoma Pikepass account.
Riggs worked for the university from May 2004 until November 2011, also serving as an executive assistant for a vice president and to the dean of Meinders School of Business. She was also an adviser to the Alpha Phi sorority.
The sorority was reimbursed for more than $50,000 after financial discrepancies were found, according to a statement released by the chapter to Student Publications.
Riggs is married to John Riggs, alumnus and former dean of students.
