- Daniel Radcliffe is set to star in Gold, which tells the story of athlete Sebastian Cole’s rivalry with Steve Ovett in the years leading up to the 1980 Olympic Games. The film will be directed by The Woman In Black helmer James Watkins, with a script by Slumdog Millionaire scribe Simon Beaufoy and How to Train Your Dragon screenwriter Will Davies. - Will Ferrell character Ron Burgundy is slated to appear on Conan on November 21. Burgundy will chat with host Conan O’Brien about his new book, Let Me Off at the Top!: My Classy Life and Other Musings, which will be released on November 18, as well as upcoming film Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. - Flight helmer Robert Zemeckis has signed on to direct The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, a film adaptation of Kate DiCamillo’s children’s novel of the same name. The story follows a vain china rabbit given to a 10-year-old girl in the 1930s who enjoys a pleasant life until falling overboard from a ship. The screenplay has been penned by Jeff Stockwell. - VH1 has announced The Tanning of America: One Nation Under Hip Hop, a 4-part documentary series that will examine the history of hip hop as a cultural movement. The series will be based on Steve Stoute’s book of the same name and will be directed by filmmakers Billy Corben and Alfred Spellman.
