Eboo Patel, this year’s first speaker in the Distinguished Speaker Series will present this evening.
Patel is the author of several books regarding interfaith relations and Islam in America. He also is the founder of the Interfaith Youth Core.
Patel will speak at 7:30 p.m. in Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center.

The timing of Patel’s speech couldn’t be better for the OCU community.
The university added an Islamic studies program recently. Courses are being offered to teach students about the Islam faith.
Interfaith dialogue also is being encouraged on campus and in the community.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend Patel’s speech.
Prior to his speech, and informal question-and-answer session with Patel will be hosted at 4 p.m. in Walker Center for Arts and Sciences. This is an opportunity for the OCU community, particularly students, to ask questions and learn from the speaker.
Interfaith dialogue, as well as developing an understanding of religions different from our own is important.
The OCU community is invited and encouraged to participate in the Distinguished Speaker Series, to grow as a more accepting community.
