- Meryl Streep will receive the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s annual Monte Cristo award, given each year to an individual singled out for their contributions to the theater. The award will be presented at an April 21 ceremony in New York City. Past recipients include Michael Douglas, Christopher Plummer, Kevin Spacey and Brian Dennehy. - Michael Bay sustained injuries to the ride side of his face after he was attacked this morning on the set of Transformers 4 in Hong Kong. A police spokeswoman told Reuters that two brothers approached Bay and demanded HK$100,000 ($12,900). The older brother then attacked Bay and three police officers. Bay declined medical attention. - Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy has said that the next season of the series will be its last. “The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn’s story. I always knew that, I always knew how it would end,” said Murphy at a Paley Center event last night. “I knew what the last shot was, he was in it. I knew what the last line was, she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we’re figuring that out now.” For more on Glee, click here.
- The American Film Institute has added the world premiere of Mark Wahlberg’s Lone Survivor to its AFI Fest lineup. The film, directed by Peter Berg, will screen at the TCL Chinese Theater on November 12. Other movies screening at the festival include August: Osage County and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
