The National Society of Leadership and Success is a new student organization on campus.
NSLS offers students a chance to improve their leadership skills through goal setting.
“We want to help set them up for their career,” said Brady Bieber, finance junior and NSLS founding president.
Bieber said this semester is more about creating a foundation.
Leadership events will begin in earnest next semester.
Members of the organization will host multiple speaker broadcasts, fundraising events and participate in community service events.
NSLS regularly broadcasts speakers from their headquarters located in Hoboken, N.J.
Past speakers have been CEOs and other speakers from major corporations, including Kevin Bracy, an internationally-renowned entrepreneur and author.
“I feel like it offers a key part for a lot of student organizations by making us better leaders,” said Nora Gnabasik, NSLS vice president.
Membership is open to anyone on campus.
The organization has a one-time membership fee of $85.
New members must attend three speaker broadcasts, an initiation meeting and an induction ceremony.
“Anyone can be a leader,” Bieber said.
The organization has been in the planning process since July and will start meeting regularly next semester.
Anyone who wants to join the organization can email Brady Bieber at babieber@my.okcu.edu for more information.
