How many times does a normal college student check their phone every day?
The average person checks their phone upwards of 150 times a day, according to Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byer’s annual Internet Trends Report .
Those quick checks can range from checking email and Facebook to just checking the time.
But what if an OCU student could check the daily campus news and events from their phone on a handy app?
What if I told you that it’s possible?
At Student Publications, our mission is to inform, entertain the campus community.
To keep with our promise, we have developed a free app for smartphones, available on the iTunes app store and Android market.
With categories to focus on ranging from news to sports to lifestyles, the app is an easy way to read the news that comes out in the weekly newspaper and the website daily.
Videos also are available to watch on the app.
There is no login or registration required to use the app.
On the MediaOCU app, anyone can check recent news stories, campus happenings, and even submit your news tips to the Student Publications staff.
Along with the app, mediaocu.com has been redesigned and revamped this semester.
With a new, fresh look and an easier way to navigate through stories, getting campus news has never been easier.
Jacilyn Kennedy is Student Publications’ new digital advertising and marketing director, and will be managing the app and website to make the most out of them.
As the new web editor, I encourage you to take a moment to browse the website and download the app.
Also, make sure to follow us on Twitter at @mediaocu and friend Stu Pub on Facebook for the latest campus information.
