Student Government Association’s first Free Movie Night of the year is scheduled for Thursday.
Free Movie Night is a SGA-funded event that allows students to use their student IDs to receive a voucher for a free movie ticket at Harkins Bricktown Cinemas 16 at 150 E. Reno Ave.
The event, which happens a few times each semester, and is popular among students.
“It’s always one of the students’ favorite events we put on,” said Thad Ernst, president of Students Activities Council.
SGA runs the event and purchases tickets in advance from the theater.
While many students enjoy attending, some students, particularly performing arts majors, are unable to clear their schedules for the event.
“I wish that it was on Wednesday,” said Lydia Wagner, music theater sophomore. “That way, more of the music students can come, because they won’t have rehearsal.”
Any student can attend Free Movie Night.
Students should present their student IDs at the SGA table, which will be set up outside of Harkins, to receive their ticket voucher.
The next free movie night is scheduled for Nov. 21.
