A documentary focusing on the Ancient Manuscripts of Mali will show at 7 p.m. on Sept. 17 in the Petree Recital Hall.
The film, called “333”, explores the University of Timbuktu and the ancient Manuscripts of Mali, as well as the nation’s history with conflict and success. The documentary promotes peaceful dialogue and tolerance among Jews, Christians and Muslims around the world.
The documentary is a product of the Sabatier Film Group, and is produced by its chairman Michael D. Covitt, who is also a lecturer at New York University.
Covitt started in entertainment business as a child actor on the Howdy Doody Show. After managing the careers of Grammy and Tony award-winning artists, Covitt made his way to executive producer of the Rock War Company, which produces concerts at the World Trade Center and in the Grand Canyon. Covitt has served as an advisor to the U.S. Department of Defense regarding the threat of global terrorism
After the screening, Covitt will conduct a question and answer session following the screening.
