U.S. News and World Report ranked Oklahoma City University among the top schools in the nation.
The list, which was released Tuesday, ranked OCU number 24 in the West regional universities category. Last year, OCU ranked number 26. OCU has the highest rank of any Oklahoma school.
President Robert Henry said OCU’s ranks high because of the students, faculty, and academic programs.
“Our low student-to-faculty ratio and experiential learning environment gives students creative educational opportunities,” Henry said. “WE are committed to helping students rise to their dreams.”
The incoming freshmen’s average GPA is 3.56.
U.S. News and World Report bases its rankings on various factors, which include financial resources, alumni giving, graduations and retention rates, and peer assessments.
Susan Barber, provost, said the standing shows the university’s commitment to quality education and challenging academics.
“The work of our faculty, staff and administrators, along with the outstanding quality of our students, has again earned OCU a prestigious ranking,” Barber said. “This is one example of our commitment to excellence in education.
