The event OneGive, scheduled for Friday, April 19 has been cancelled.
The annual event hosted by Student Government Association was planned around Earth Day to promote sustainability.
An email was sent out today about 1 p.m. informing students that OneGive was cancelled, and will be rescheduled for the next semester.
Jaron Reid, nursing freshman and secretary of initiative and policies for SGA, said the committee decided to cancel the event due to several reasons, including the weather. With the cold front hitting today, it has been determined that it is too cold and wet for an outdoor event.
“The quad is where most of the event would have been held, and after last nights torrential rain, the already saturated quad is flooded,” Reid said.
The committee also wants to have the event earlier in the day, to make it easier for more students to come.
“The students are our primary focus,” Reid said.
OneGive will be rescheduled for the fall semester.
