A runoff election has been announced for the Student Government Association presidential office.
Candidates Terrance Craft, mass communications sophomore, and Beatrize Martinez, justice studies/economics junior, are the remaining contenders for SGA president, said Harmonniey Cheadle, chief justice of Student Court.
The runoff was reserved in the event that one of the five candidates did not receive at least 51 percent of the vote in the general election.
Martinez said she is prepared for the runoff election.
“I’m excited and very confident that the students will have made the right choice,” Martinez said. “I am honored to be a part of the top two.”
Craft also said he is excited about the upcoming runoff.
“I want students to have their voices heard and choose who they think will best serve them,” Craft said. “I hope the same amount of people come back and vote Thursday.”
