Fugitive from Justice Saturday, 3-9-13 5:09pm; EZ Pawn 2027 NW 23rd; Incident # 13-02-028 (supplemental); arrested: Michael C. Goudeau (no OCU affiliation); Officer Roland Garrett was dispatched to EZ Pawn regarding a suspect who had stolen two X Box controls and three games from the Smith Hall lobby Tuesday, 2-19-13. Upon arrival he met with the employees who pointed out the suspect inside of the business. The officer escorted Mr. Goudeau to the parking lot and arrested him. He transported him to the Oklahoma County Detention Center (no property has been recovered at this time). Note: Officer Josh Pankowsky initially investigated the theft on 2-19-13 and was able to have employees at the pawn shop to identify the suspect in order to obtain a misdemeanor arrest warrant.
Burglar 2nd Degree Monday, 3-11-13 3:05pm; United Methodist Hall; Incident # 13-03-014; victim: student; suspect: unknown; item stolen: one Toshiba laptop; Officer Josh Pankowsky met with the victim at OCUPD in reference to his stolen laptop. He said his roommate left their dorm unlocked and unattended between the hours of 10:00am to 10:00pm on Sunday 3-10-13. During that time someone had removed the laptop from his dorm. The victim provided the name of a student who made the statement last week “it would be a good idea to go into (the victim’s) room and mess with stuff”. Officer Pankowsky and an RA went to the student’s dorm and searched the room however; they were not able to locate the laptop. The victim made a written statement and the officer will continue to investigate this felony.
Public Intoxication Tuesday, 3-12-13 11:25pm; Organics OKC, NW 27th and Pennsylvania Avenue; Incident # 13-03-015; arrested: Robert Ganchou (no OCU affiliation); Officer Josh Pankowsky received a cell phone call from the owner of the Organics OKC regarding an adult male intoxicated near her business. Upon arrival he observed the subject setting next to a dumpster located on the North side of Domino’s Pizza. He had the subject, later identified as Robert Ganchou (no OCU affiliation), to stand up and communicate with him. The officer noticed that Mr. Ganchou had the odor of an alcoholic beverage about his breath and person in addition to having bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. He was unsteady on his feet and was holding a half empty bottle of vodka. The officer properly disposed of the vodka and took Mr. Ganchou into custody. He was transported to the Public Inebriation Alternative Center where he registered a presumptive BAC of .171%. Officer Pankowsky is familiar with the business owners in that area and has given his business cards to them with his cell phone on it.
Multiple Shots Fired Off Campus (campus lock down) Tuesday, 3-12-13 9:51pm; NW 29th and N. Kentucky Avenue; Incident # 13-03-016; suspects: unknown; suspect vehicle: white Chevrolet SUV w/temp (unknown) license plate; OCUPD received three phone calls reporting that several gun shots were heard near NW 29th and Indiana Avenue. Sergeant Michael Kavenius, Officer Chenoweth and Officer Kiel Pepper arrived on scene and met with several Oklahoma City Police Officers who were attempting to locate suspects. The OCPD officers said they had earlier responded to a fight call to a duplex at 1818 NW 29th involving thirty female gang members of the Hoover 170’s and Bloods. Sergeant Kavenius located seven 9mm shell casings at the intersection of NW 29th and Kentucky Avenue. OCPD officers collected the shell casings as evidence. As all of the officers on scene were about to return to service, they heard seven gun shots east of their location. At that time Sergeant Kavenius had the campus placed on LOCK DOWN. All of the officers searched the area with negative result and eventually declared an ALL CLEAR for the campus at 10:49pm.
