University police department officials have been issuing tickets recently for various parking violations.
The department has jurisdiction over all property related to OCU and operates like most other police departments, able to give tickets for parking violations, expired tags, traffic violations, etc.

Students can easily avoid receiving parking tickets if they follow the guidelines set by OCUPD and the university.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to purchase their parking passes early in the year, and park in the designated area for which their parking pass denotes.
Several parking lots designate certain hours of the day for certain parking passes, and everyone should be aware of this signage.
University residents, employees and visitors also are encouraged to keep up with routine maintenance on their cars to avoid ticketing.
If you receive a ticket for an expired tag during the 30-day grace period, stop by the OCUPD in Clara E. Jones Administration Building to discuss having the ticket removed.
People wishing to dispute their tickets may go by the department and make an appeal to their ticket.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to be aware of their parking and why they are ticketed, if they receive one.
OCUPD is encouraged to work with students, faculty and staff to help them better understand the processes for receiving a ticket or appealing one.
