State Sen. Patrick Anderson will abandon his legislation that would allow municipalities to ban certain breeds of dogs.
Senate Bill 32 states, “any incorporated municipality of this state may upon approval by its governing board, restrict the ownership of any breed of dog by citizens residing within the limits of the municipality.”
The bill does not specifically identify any dog breeds, but animal rescue groups claim that the legislation targets pit bulls.
