Alcohol Contact Friday, 12-14-12 9:02pm; Smith Hall; Incident # 12-12-024; suspect: student; reporting person: RA; evidence: 2 empty bottles of liquor and 1 burnt candle; Officer Michael Haynes was dispatched to Smith Hall regarding a dorm containing the above evidence. Upon arrival he met with an RA who said he was performing routine room checks and discovered the empty bottles of liquor and one burnt candle. They went to the dorm room, knocked on the door and eventfully entered. The resident/student was not in his room and they observed the empty bottles of liquor and burnt candle. Officer Haynes took photos of the evidence and later threw them in a dumpster. This incident has been forwarded to the Dean of Students for administrative adjudication.
Larceny of Merchandise From a Retailer Saturday, 12-14-12 5:12pm; Buy For Less Market, 2500 N. Pennsylvania Avenue; Incident # 12-12-025; arrested: Mario H. Romo (no OCU affiliation); reporting person: Security Officer Ryan Butcher (no OCU affiliation); evidence: 1 bottle of Certified Ibuprofen (40ct.) and 1 bottle of Certified Extra Strength Acetaminophen (24ct.); Officer Michael Haynes was dispatched to the Buy For Less Market regarding a shoplifter. Upon arrival he met with Security Officer Ryan Butcher who had suspect, Mario H. Romo (no OCU affiliation), in custody. He said an unknown customer informed him he observed the suspect to take the above evidence and put them in his pockets. The security officer then said he approached the suspect and asked if he had the merchandise on his person at which time he removed the evidence from his pockets and gave it to him. Officer Haynes took custody of the suspect and transported him to the Oklahoma County Detention Center. The officer took photos of the evidence and Security Officer Ryan retained the evidence for criminal prosecution.
