Indecent Exposure Thursday, 11-29-12 3:00pm; NW 25th and Virginia Avenue; Incident # 12-11-038; victim: student; suspect: male, possibly East Indian; suspect vehicle: late model 4 door red; The student/victim met with Officer Michael Haynes at OCUPD regarding an Indecent Exposure. She said she was walking near the intersection of NW 25th and Virginia Avenue when a male approximately 20 years old driving a red late model 4 door vehicle drove next to her and asked her for directions to the Buy For Less market. She provided the information and the suspect departed. He then turned his vehicle around and again drove next to her and exposed his erect penis to her and immediately drove away. The victim could provide only vague information and made a written statement.
Tobacco Contact Violation Thursday, 11-29-12 4:38pm; Cokesbury Court Apartments; Incident # 12-11-039; suspect: student; involved persons: 2 RAs; Officer Michael Haynes was dispatched to Cokesbury Apartments regarding a student smoking in his apartment. Upon arrival he met with two RAs who said they detected the odor of burning tobacco in a specific apartment. They went to the apartment and met with the resident who admitted smoking in his apartment. The RAs said the student has been previously warned about violating the no smoking policy. Officer Haynes observed numerous packs of cigarettes and cigarette butts in ash trays. He was issued an OCUPD citation. The evidence was photographed and the cigarettes were confiscated. This incident will be forwarded to the Dean of Students for possible administrative adjudication.
Marijuana Contact Saturday, 12-1-12 2:12am; Cokesbury Court Apartments; Incident # 12-12-001; suspect: student; evidence: marijuana (not a measurable quantity), field tested positive for THC, one glass pipe and one lighter; Officer Roland Garrett was dispatched to Cokesbury Apartments in reference to someone reporting to detect the odor of burnt marijuana in a specific apartment. Upon arrival the officer could smell the marijuana smoke and met with the student/resident who allowed the officer to search the apartment. The student gathered the above evidence and gave it to the officer who searched the apartment and was unable to locate any additional contraband. The evidence was photographed and placed into the OCUPD evidence locker. This incident will be forwarded to the Dean of Student for possible administrative adjudication.
Non-Injury Traffic Collision Saturday, 12-1-12 11:45am; NW 27th and McKinley Avenue; Incident # 12-12-002; driver # 1: Ken Truong (no OCU affiliation), vehicle gray 2005 Toyota SEQ; driver # 2: Steve Roy Reynolds (no OCU affiliation), vehicle: white Chevrolet 2CH; Officer Kiel Pepper was dispatched to NW 27th and McKinley Avenue regarding a non-injury accident. Upon arrival he met with both drivers who said that driver # 1 failed to yield at the intersection and collided with driver # 2 as he entered the intersection. Both vehicles were moved from the scene by a wrecker service and the drivers exchanged insurance information. Driver # 1 was issued a citation for Failure to Yield. The evidence corroborates with the statements made by both drivers.
DUI (drugs) and Driving after License Denied or Canceled Sunday, 12-2-12 12:45am; 2500 block N. Pennsylvania Avenue; arrested: Matthew Brent Carel (no OCU affiliation); impounded vehicle: silver 2009 Jeep Patriot SUV; Officer Michael Haynes documented by radar a silver Jeep travelling 44/30 mph. He stopped the vehicle and met with the driver, Matthew Brent Carel (no OCU affiliation). The officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and had him perform several field dexterity tests of which he failed all of them. He also failed the standard SFST test. He was arrested for DUI and his vehicle was impounded. Upon arrival at the Oklahoma County Detention Center Mr. Carel was read the Oklahoma Implied Consent of which he chose the breath test resulting in a BAC of 0.00%. He was again read the Implied Consent for the state’s blood test and he refused both verbally and by signing the affidavit.
Tobacco Contact Violation Sunday, 12-2-12 8:35pm; United Methodist Hall; Incident # 12-12-004; suspects: 2 students; Officer Michael Haynes was dispatched to Methodist Hall in reference to the odor of burning tobacco at a specific dorm. Upon arrival he met with an RA who said she could smell burning tobacco at which time they went to the dorm room. They were met at the door by an uninvolved student who notified the student/residents via phone to inform them of the incident. The tobacco products were photographed, documented and confiscated. The incident will be forwarded to the Dean of Students for possible administrative adjudication.
Poss. of CDS w/Intent to Distribute, Poss. of Marijuana w/Intent to Distribute and Fugitive From Justice (3 felony arrest warrants) Monday, 12-3-12 4:42am; N. Kentucky Avenue and J.R. Homsey Drive; arrested: Jana Kay Swanson (no OCU affiliation) impounded vehicle: blue Ford station wagon; evidence: approximately 10 small baggies of marijuana, approximately 10 baggies of methamphetamine, one package of heroin and $1382.60 cash; Sergeant John Jackson observed a blue Ford travelling on the roadway and driving left of center on several occasions. He stopped the vehicle and discovered that Jana Kay Swanson (no OCU affiliation) had 3 outstanding felony arrest warrants out of Oklahoma County. She was arrested and placed in the patrol unit. During the standard custodial inventory of the vehicle, he discovered the above evidence which was later documented, processed and placed into the OCUPD evidence locker. Ms. Swanson was transported to the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
