DUI and Speeding 40/30 Wednesday, 11-28-12 2:00am; NW 23rd and Kentucky Avenue; Incident # 12-11-033; arrested: Dustin Eugene Jackson (no OCU affiliation); impounded vehicle: white VW Golf 4dr; Officer Mark Chenoweth was working radar at NW 23rd on Kentucky Avenue and documented a white VW travelling 40/30 mph. He was able to stop the vehicle at the 7-11 Convenience Store. The driver, later identified as Dustin Eugene Jackson (no OCU affiliation), exited the vehicle at which time the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage about his breath and person. He was unsteady on his feet and failed the entire field dexterity tests afforded him. He refused to comply with the Implied Consent and was arrested/transported to the Oklahoma County Detention Center. He also refused to sign the standard Refusal Statement/Temporary License form. His DL will eventually be revoked. His vehicle was impounded.
Medical Assist Wednesday, 11-28-12 5:53pm; Tom and Brenda McDaniel University Center (kitchen); Incident # 12-11-035; victim: Mack Fitzgerald (Sodexo employee); witness: Ginger Howell (Executive Chef for Sodexo); Officer Roland Garrett was dispatched to the kitchen at the McDaniel University Center regarding an unconscious person. Upon arrival observed the victim to be sitting on the floor and conscious. He was incoherent, nauseated and unable to speak. The witness informed the officer that Mr. Fitzgerald donated blood earlier in the day at 3:00pm. At 6:11pm EMSA Unit # 385 arrived on scene and transported the victim to St. Anthony Hospital at 6:32pm. Mr. Fitzgerald’s girlfriend was notified and reportedly met with him at the hospital.
Alcohol Contact Wednesday, 11-28-12 11:23pm; United Methodist Hall; Incident # 12-11-036; involved persons: 2 students; witness: RA; Officer Roland Garrett met with an RA at a dorm room and knocked on the door several times with no answer. The RA said she earlier observed bottles of vodka on a table in the living room in plain view as she was looking through a window. They entered the room and observed three bottles of vodka with various levels of consumption. The bottles were empted into the kitchen sink after being photographed. This incident has been forwarded to Assistant Dean of Students Mr. Josh Waddell for administrative adjudication.
