Elliott Mattox, music theater junior, was crowned this year’s Mr. OCU.
Mattox won a cash prize of $200, as well as $250 Alvin’s cash.
The competition consisted of four categories, the on-stage question, sportswear or active wear, talent, and evening wear.
The eight competitors had a variety of talents, ranging from singing to stand-up comedy.
Mattox performed a tap number, while singing for his talent.
“I had the song in my head,” Mattox said. “I just had to remember the dance.”
Mattox said he decided to join the competition when April Nelson, who coordinated the event, told him about it.
“I’m really excited to be Mr. OCU,” he said. “It was fun to hang out with all the guys during rehearsals.”
Sean Burroughs won “fan favorite,” with the cash prize being $50.
