Petit Larceny Friday, 9-21-12 3:00pm; Clara E. Jones Administrative Building (East parking lot); Incident # 12-09-034; victim: student; item stolen: catalytic converter; victim vehicle: black 2002 Jeep GCH; Officer Kiel Pepper was dispatched to the east parking lot at the Clara E. Jones Administrative Building. Upon arrival he met with the victim/student who said he parked his Jeep on Wednesday, 9-21-12 at 6:00pm. Upon his return on Friday, at 12:30am he discovered his catalytic converter had been removed. The student had the converter replaced prior to reporting the crime to OCUPD.
Agency Assist (fleeing felon on campus) Sunday, 9-23-12 3:45pm; Tom and Brenda McDaniel University Center; Incident # 12-09-035; suspect: Sean Faherty (no OCU affiliation); witness: OCU student; The OCUPD dispatcher was notified by the Oklahoma City Police Department that a suspect had shot a person at the Westview Apartments 1601 NW 30th and was observed running toward our campus. Our dispatcher immediately issued a CAMPUS ALERT for a lock down and notified Officer Pepper. An OCU student observed the suspect as he ran into the McDaniel University Center. OCUPD Officer Kiel Pepper and five OCPD officers searched the building. The suspect was taken into custody without incident as he was waiting for the elevator to take him downstairs. Prior to the officer’s arrival, the suspect asked an OCU student, who was inside of the building, where he could find a pay phone. She later provided the Oklahoma City Police Department with a written statement. During the initial follow up investigation, the suspect said he hid the handgun in the 1600 block of NW 29th which was recovered by OCPD. The victim sustained a gunshot to the head consisting of a minor scalp laceration. The victim received medical treatment and was arrested after OCPD officers found drugs in the victim’s apartment. There were no related incidents on campus as a result of the suspect being on campus.
