Three states made news this week by affecting legislation in favor of same-sex marriage.
California’s Prop 8 bill was declared unconstitutional Tuesday by a federal appeals court.
Opponents of the bill anticipate the legislation to move to the Supreme Court.

Lawmakers in Washington voted Wednesday to make same-sex marriage legal in the state, making it the seventh state in the country to do so.
The next move for the bill is for Gov. Chris Gregoire to sign it, which is expected by next week.

Illinois lawmakers filed a bill Wednesday to extend same-sex marriage rights to citizens of the state.
The decision of the bill is still in the early stages of approval, as multiple same-sex marriage bills have been introduced before.
