Winter temperatures are approaching, which means campus officials are preparing for the possibility of inclement weather.
Officials are concerned with preparing campus buildings’ pipe systems for colder weather, said Jeff Castleberry, director of facilities.
Administrators attributed record-breaking low temperatures to causing pipes to freeze and burst in January and February in Oklahoma United Methodist Hall, according to The Campus newspaper archives.
Facilities turned on heating in campus buildings Nov. 1, Castleberry said.
“It will stay on until the end of March or beginning of April,” he said. “We sometimes keep it on past that due to varying temperatures, like last winter.”
