The OCU cross country teams started their 2011 season at the Central Oklahoma Land Run in Edmond, Okla. yesterday. This was the season opener for the Stars.
Two Stars had top five finishes. Pauric McLaughlin and Raechel Brown, both freshmen, finished second and fifth respectively in their races.
McLaughlin was the first colligate runner to finish the 6400 meter race with a time of 20 minutes and 55.43 seconds. Brown finished the five kilometer race in 19:51.61.
In only the first race of the season, McLaughlin and Brown posted the fastest times and highest placements by any male and female OCU runners ever.
The Stars will take a week off before hosting the OCU Fall Classic on Sept. 24.
