Filipe Nieto was awarded first prize in the Carl Albert High School Band New Music Competition. As the winning composer, Nieto will work with the Midwest City-based band and its director, OCU alumna Sarah Neely, to create a work to be premiered in the spring. Nieto, a junior composition major, is from Bogota, Colombia.
