OKLAHOMA CITY – The Societies of Oklahoma City University will honor Jenny Love Meyer, Julie Hall, Lori Hill and Jeannette Sias during the annual Awards of Excellence dinner Feb. 26 at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel.
Meyer, the Kirkpatrick-Petree Music and Performing Arts Society Award recipient, serves as director of communications for Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores and as director of the Love Family Fund. Her civic involvement includes past and present positions on the Red Cross and Arthritis Foundation boards, as chairperson of the statewide Children’s Miracle Network Council, as co-chair of Opus II for Allied Arts and as a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma City.
Hall, the Dulaney-Browne Library Society Award honoree, has volunteered for a variety of organizations in Oklahoma City. She has served as chair of Allied Arts, president of the Oklahoma Zoological Society, a trustee of the Westminster School Board and as a member of the UniversityHospital Foundation. Hall also was appointed to serve on the Oklahoma City Zoo trust. She currently is active on the boards of the Central Oklahoma HumaneSociety, the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics Foundation, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and ArtSpace at Untitled.
Hill, who will receive the Norick-Hulsey Art Gallery Society Award, recently retired from Morgan Stanley where she served as a Certified Financial Planner for 25 years. She has served in numerous civic leadership roles with Allied Arts, the University of Oklahoma Breast Institute, the Girl Scouts’ Juliette Low Leadership Society, the Oklahoma County Medical Society Alliance and the Chi Omega Alumnae Association.
Sias, OCU Distinguished Philanthropist Society Award recipient, taught speech therapy in Oklahoma City public schools for several years. Her volunteer activities include serving as president of the Landmen’s Wives Association, volunteering at the Oklahoma City Speech and Hearing Clinic, participating in Oklahoma City Arabian Horse Shows, serving as president of the Ladies Music Club and teaching pre-school children at the Nichols Hills United Methodist Church for almost 40 years. Sias also owns Joullian Vineyards.
Kirk Hammons is chairing this year’s Awards of Excellence and Linda Garrett serves as vice chair. Cathy Leichter serves as president of the organization.
