Senators will meet at their regular meeting time, despite university cancelations. The meeting will be hosted at 8 p.m. Jan. 8 in the Great Hall in Tom and Brenda McDaniel University Center.
“We will still meet at our regular time, but we can’t count it against senators for not attending,” said Sen. Sarah Cook (Greek/president pro-tempore).
The body will vote on three bills, SB 035, 036 and 037. The legislative pieces were to be on the floor during last week’s meeting on Feb. 1, but the meeting was canceled due to inclement weather conditions.
SB 035, authored by Sen. Emma Velez (sophomore at-large) proposes funding to be allotted to the OCU Film Guild. The legislation requests $1,725 for the filming of “Uncle Cosmo.”
Members of Psi-Chi requested about a $1,500 allotment in SB 036 to attend the Southwestern Psychological Association Conference April 7-9. The bill was authored by Sen. Chris Macella (mathematics).
SB 037, authored by Sen. Sheray Franklin (dance/arts management), requests $400 to aid students of Black Student Association in attending the Bix XII Conference. The initial bill requests each student receive $400 for a partial registration fee.
