Officials named Dr. Michael Williams associate dean of Meinders School of Business. His new position was effective Monday, Williams said.
Williams, professor of marketing, said he already has started to work alongside Dr. Steve Agee, interim business dean, to keep “pushing the business school forward.”
“I hope to increase enrollment, set new standards and protect the integrity of the degree of our students,” he said. “I want to bridge the gap between administration and faculty.”
Williams received his Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University and M.B.A. and B.B.A., from University of Oklahoma. Williams formerly worked in Illinois State University’s department of marketing, where he also was director for the university’s Professional Sales Institute. Williams has received two National Science Foundation grants, the Leadership in Innovative Business Education Award from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, and numerous honors and awards related to his business education career. He has been published in peer-reviewed journals, monographs and proceedings publications, and has co-authored 10 textbooks, according to William’s faculty biography.
“I hope to help build the brand for what is OCU and the Meinders School of Business,” Williams said.
