Officials crowned Annalise Freeman Miss OCU 2011.
The vocal performance senior will receive a three-semester scholarship to OCU, including room and board. The scholarship is valued at $39,000.
Freeman said she did not expect to win the pageant.
“All of the girls were just amazing,” she said. “Miss OCU is such a hard title to apply for.”
Hailey Holloway, business administration sophomore, won the first runner-up, people’s choice and talent awards. She will receive a full year’s tuition to OCU.
The Miss Congeniality award was given to Caroline Carthey, acting senior.
Other winners were:
- Second runner-up: Emily Ousley, mass communications freshman
- Third runner-up and swimsuit competition winner: Sheridan Fulkerson, mass communications sophomore
- Fourth runner-up: Kelsey Gaurd, vocal performance junior
Miss OCU 2010 engaged
Michelle Luneau, Miss OCU 2010, was proposed to by fiance Daniel Orren at the pageant.
Orren popped the surprise question on stage after Luneau’s framed photo for the OCU “wall of queens” was presented by Darwina Marshall, executive director of the Miss OCU pageant. She said “yes.”
