Senior Golfer Laura Jones registered a top-10 individual finish for Oklahoma City University in the Oral Roberts Shootout on Tuesday at MeadowBrook Country Club.
Jones, a senior from Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, England, carded an 80-75-75–230 to be tied for ninth place at nine strokes off the pace. The Stars, last year’s NAIA women’s golf runners-up, took ninth with a 330-316-322–968.
OCU finished ahead of six NCAA Division I teams in the 17-team field. Tulsa captured the tournament title led by individual winner Marita Engzelius.
Paige Martin, a senior from Ardmore, Okla., turned in a 79-76-82–237 for the Stars. Taylor Howard put together an 83-81-82–246 for OCU.
Sophomore Golfer Tanya Tibshraeny compiled an 88-84-83–255, while Allison Sharrock had a 93-85-85–263.
OCU plays host to the Oklahoma Stars Fall Classic starting 8:30 a.m. Monday and Tuesday at Lincoln Park Golf Course, 4001 NE Grand Blvd., in Oklahoma City.
