The polls have closed for Student Government Association’s Student Senate freshman-at-large seats.
Caleb Howard, mass communications freshman, and Jacilyn Kennedy, entertainment business freshman, won the seats, said Zane Anderson, chief justice of Student Court.
Ninety-one freshman voted in the election, Anderson said.
Howard said he looks forward to his new position as a freshman-at-large Senator.
“I’m excited to get involved and that the freshman class picked me,” he said.
Kennedy was unavailable for comment via telephone at 5:39 p.m. Friday.
Other freshman-at-large candidates included Alexis Embry, acting freshman; Tanner Struck, religion/psychology freshman; Jeremy Devers, political science/business marketing freshman; Courtney Cirone, acting freshman; and Angie Coumanova, vocal performance freshman.
The Senators will serve as representatives for the freshman class, said Justin DaMetz, SGA vice president for Student Senate.
Everyone did a great job running and there are more opportunities to get involved with SGA than Student Senate, Howard said.
