Students will elect new officers to Student Government Association when the university resumes classes after Spring Break.
Polls are scheduled to open at 8 a.m. March 25, and voting continues through 7 p.m. March 26.
Students vote by logging in to their INVOLVED accounts.
All OCU students can vote on the presidential positions and senators representing their academic department and class standing.
Harmonniey Cheadle, chief justice of Student Court, said the filing period for candidates was between Feb. 26 and March 5.
Cheadle, who is in charge of running elections, also said she anticipates a runoff due to the increased number of candidates.
Six students are running for president of SGA, while four are running for the vice president seat this year. The vice president of Student Activities Council is unopposed.
Liz Donnelly, dean of students, said the increase of students running is a good thing.
The turnout speaks a credit to SGA President Robin Ladd, Donnelly said. It also speaks to the resiliency and importance an effective student government can be, she said.
Time has been set aside for an additional voting period in the event of a runoff.
