OCU will enter enter a contract with a new food service provider on July 1.
Students received an email March 3 informing them about the new partnership. Chartwells, the university’s future provider, is a branch of Compass Group, a company that provides food for schools, museums, cafes, and hospitals across the country.
OCU has encouraged Chartwells to hire current Sodexo employees, who will have the opportunity to apply with the new provider, according to the email sent by Catherine Maninger, president for business operations and chief financial officer, .
SGA representatives have already submitted information regarding students’ food service requests, and the new vendor was chosen by a panel of students, faculty and staff.
Meal plan costs will not change next year.
University officials will update students with more information later in the semester.
