Oklahoma City University powered past Northwood (Texas) 10-0 Sunday at Jim Wade Stadium to advance to the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament championship game.
OCU, ranked No. 16 in NAIA baseball, outhit the Knights 13-4 to improve to 35-16 overall. The Stars improved to 3-0 in pool play with the win and will host top-ranked Oklahoma Baptist at 1 p.m. Monday at Jim Wade Stadium.
Chris Pike turned in a four-hit shutout.
Austin Murphy broke the game open with a three-run homer to right center that made the score 6-0 in favor of the Stars.
Lacy slugged his second home run of the game in the bottom of the sixth and stretched OCU’s lead to 8-0.
Forrest Smith clubbed his 17th home run of the season in the bottom of the seventh to give the Stars a 9-0 lead.
Connor Lynch hit an RBI single to left that gave OCU the 10-0 run-rule victory.
Pike allowed four hits in eight scoreless innings and struck out six to pick up the win and improve to 10-2 on the season.
Lacy and Murphy powered the Stars’ offense with three RBIs each.
The Stars will face Oklahoma Baptist at 1 p.m. Monday in the SAC Tournament championship game at Jim Wade Stadium.
