Students receive Gilman scholarships to study Japanese

Bryne Harris, English junior, and Mark Zachery, biomedical science junior, were awarded Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships. They each received $5,000 to study Japanese at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan.

The Gilman Scholarship is funded by the Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Preference is given to students studying outside Western Europe and to students studying a critical language.
