Shooting began yesterday for the long-awaited sequel to Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez’s 2004 film Sin City.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is scheduled for a 2013 release.  Actors Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Jessica Alba are slated to reprise their roles, with Clive Owen also expected to return.

The film’s script was cowritten by Miller and Rodriguez and will feature story lines from Miller’s Sin City comics, as well as one new one written specifically for the movie.
