Oklahoma flu outbreak persists

By Amanda Alfanos, Editor-in-Chief

Another Oklahoman was killed by the flu epidemic, officials say.

About one thousand residents of the state could become sick before the season’s end, said Kristy Bradley, state epidemiologist, in a NewsOK.com article.

The state’s flu death count increased to four last week when a patient in Logan County died, the article states.

Seventeen states have reported significant flu activity, but the season is “largely unremarkable” thus far, the article said.
